Terms and Conditions

These Terms and Conditions („Terms“) govern your use of the Wortly mobile application („App“), owned and operated by Glagolis Interactive Ltd., a company registered in the Republic of Bulgaria („Glagolis“, „we“, „our“, or „us“).

By downloading, installing, accessing, or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree with these Terms, please do not use the App.

1. About Wortly

Wortly is an educational application designed to help users learn German vocabulary. The App provides vocabulary translations:

  • German ↔ English
  • German ↔ Bulgarian

Vocabulary is organized into suggested language proficiency levels intended to support structured learning.

The App is provided for educational purposes only.

2. Eligibility

You must comply with all applicable laws when using the App.

If you are under the age required to enter into binding agreements in your country, you may use the App only with the permission and supervision of a parent or legal guardian.

3. Language Level Classification

The vocabulary included in Wortly is organized into language levels (such as A1, A2, B1, B2, C1, and C2) based on Glagolis Interactive Ltd.’s own educational judgment and recommendations.

There is no universally accepted or authoritative list defining exactly which words belong to each language proficiency level or the exact number of words required for each level.

Accordingly:

  • the vocabulary grouping within Wortly represents our own suggested classification;
  • other educational institutions, publishers, language schools, dictionaries, examinations, or learning platforms may classify vocabulary differently;
  • different sources may include more words, fewer words, or assign words to different proficiency levels.

By using the App, you acknowledge and agree that these classifications are educational recommendations only and that Glagolis Interactive Ltd. is not responsible for differences between Wortly’s classifications and those of any third party.

The vocabulary organization should not be interpreted as an official CEFR vocabulary standard or guarantee of examination readiness.

4. Educational Disclaimer

The App is intended as a learning aid.

While we strive to provide accurate translations and vocabulary, we do not guarantee that:

  • all translations are free from errors
  • all vocabulary is complete
  • there are no grammatical, lexical or other errors
  • there are no repeated words
  • all definitions are exhaustive
  • all examples (if any) are perfectly suited to every context

Users should consult additional educational resources where appropriate.

5. In-App Purchases

Certain vocabulary groups or other premium content may be unlocked through one-time in-app purchases („IAP“).

When you purchase a vocabulary group:

  • the purchased content becomes permanently unlocked for the account used for the purchase
  • purchases are processed exclusively by Apple App Store or Google Play
  • payment processing, billing, taxes, and receipts are handled by the applicable app store

Except where required by applicable law, purchases are non-refundable.

If you change devices, you may restore eligible purchases using the restore purchases functionality, subject to the policies of Apple or Google.

6. Pricing

Prices displayed in the App are determined by us and the applicable app store and may vary by country, currency, taxes, or promotional offers.

Glagolis Interactive Ltd. reserves the right to modify pricing for future purchases at any time.

Previously completed purchases remain unaffected.

7. License

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App solely for your personal, non-commercial educational purposes.

You may not:

  • copy or redistribute substantial portions of the App;
  • reverse engineer the App except where permitted by law;
  • modify or create derivative works;
  • use the App for unlawful purposes;
  • interfere with the operation or security of the App.

8. Intellectual Property

The App, including but not limited to:

  • software,
  • design,
  • logos,
  • trademarks,
  • vocabulary organization,
  • educational structure,
  • graphics,
  • user interface,
  • text,

is owned by or licensed to Glagolis Interactive Ltd. and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

These Terms do not transfer ownership of any intellectual property rights to you.

9. Availability

We aim to keep Wortly available and functioning correctly.

However, we do not guarantee uninterrupted availability.

We may:

  • update the App;
  • improve features;
  • modify vocabulary;
  • correct errors;
  • remove obsolete content;
  • suspend portions of the service for maintenance.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

The App is provided on an „as is“ and „as available“ basis.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Glagolis Interactive Ltd. disclaims all warranties, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Glagolis Interactive Ltd. shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages arising from or relating to:

  • use of the App;
  • inability to use the App;
  • reliance upon vocabulary classifications;
  • translation inaccuracies;
  • learning outcomes;
  • examination results.

Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the App or its in-app purchases during the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.

Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded under applicable law.

12. User Responsibilities

You agree to use the App responsibly and lawfully.

You agree not to:

  • misuse the App;
  • attempt unauthorized access;
  • interfere with other users;
  • distribute malicious software;
  • violate applicable laws.

13. Updates to the Terms

We may revise these Terms from time to time.

When significant changes are made, we may notify users through the App or by other appropriate means.

Continued use of the App after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

14. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access to the App where required for security, legal compliance, abuse prevention, or violation of these Terms.

15. Third-Party Platforms

The App is distributed through Apple App Store and Google Play.

Apple and Google are responsible for their own payment processing, distribution, and platform services.

Nothing in these Terms limits any mandatory rights you may have under the applicable terms of Apple or Google.

16. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by the laws of the Republic of Bulgaria, except where mandatory consumer protection laws of your country of residence apply.

Any disputes shall be subject to the competent courts of the Republic of Bulgaria unless applicable consumer protection legislation provides otherwise.

18. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is held invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.

19. Entire Agreement

These Terms constitute the entire agreement between you and Glagolis Interactive Ltd. regarding your use of Wortly and supersede any prior agreements relating to the App.
